Ceneo.pl - the second largest e-commerce website in Poland with headquarters in Wrocław.
The company 's owner is the Cinven, Permira and Mid Europa funds, which on October 16, 2016 bought Ceneo.pl and Allegro (as the Allegro Group ) from the Naspers group for USD 3.25 billion.
At Ceneo.pl its offers are presented by over 18,000 online stores, thanks to which users of the service can choose and compare prices for a total of 20 million products.
Activity
Ceneo.pl was created on the basis of a price comparison site. The service now allows users not only to find a product available in various stores and compare its price, but also to make purchases in many stores using a virtual basket, ie the option BUY NOW.
In addition, users can read a number of reviews about products, the quality of service of stores and parcel providers before buying. The site was the first in Poland to launch the Trusted Reviews program, which is based on an extremely reliable system of store evaluation by the buyers. They are issued by users only after shopping in a given store.
Since 2009, the Ceneo.pl website based on these opinions has been publishing the Ranking of Trusted Reviews, which indicates online stores enjoying the best reviews among Internet users shopping online.
History
The founders of the website are Marcin Chwalik and Łukasz Zych. Ceneo.pl was launched on February 14, 2005, when in Poland the concept of e-commerce was just beginning to break into the minds of Poles.
