After a long winter, Yogi Bear and Boo-Boo Bear wake up from hibernation. In front of the house, they find a basket with three little bears. Soon they learn from Ranger Smith that the national park in which they live will be closed and they will be moved to the zoo. Yogi and Boo-Boo don't agree to this, so Yogi comes up with a plan to escape. Ranger Smith decides to pursue the bears in the company of Traper's tracker and his dog Yaper. Along the way, they encounter adventures, including: they meet bad guys who look like them but are from Texas, and the Yoga Bear fan club and many old friends. His friends include Quick Draw McGraw, Wally Gator and Snagglepuss. The movie ends with a phone call from the President of the United States who informs Yogi that the park will not be closed, after which the whole group of bears returns to him.
