Silver fin shark [5], great white shark [6], great white shark [7] (Carcharhinus albimarginatus) - a species of large shark from the shark family (Carcharhinidae). It occurs in tropical waters of all oceans, on the eastern and south-western shores of the Pacific Ocean, in the mid-west of the Atlantic Ocean and in the waters of the Indian Ocean. Most often found near coral reefs. It lives in waters 30-800 meters deep along the upper edges of the continental shelves. It has a well-built torso, typical of Carcharhinus species, a wide, elongated head with a large mouth and a large heteroceric caudal fin with a triangular skin fold at the end of the upper arch. A characteristic feature of this species is the snow-white rear edges of the fins (except for the dark second dorsal fin). It reaches a maximum length of 3 m and weighs 160 kg.
