Storks - a sculpture by Michał Gałkiewicz made of artificial stone, was created as a landmark, thanks to which the residents were to find themselves in the Retkinia estate in Łódź. The inspiration was the stork's nest, which the sculptor saw during his holidays in Mikoszewo [1]. For years, "Storks" were a monument identifying Łódź (for example, postcards with their likeness were issued). In 2017, the monument was renovated without the author's supervision [2].
