World Cup in ski jumping - held annually, between November and March, a series of competitions in ski jumping, carried out by the International Ski Federation (FIS). It takes place mainly in the Nordic countries and Central Europe, with individual competitions in Japan. Occasionally, in selected years, also in the United States, South Korea, Canada, Russia, Sweden, France and Italy. For taking a suitable place in individual competitions, the participant receives a given number of points. Each player who has at least once taken the place among the 30 best in the competition adds up to the points scored in them. Based on these points, the World Cup classification is created. It is transitional, i.e. it is updated after each competition. Her current leader in the next World Cup competition starts in a yellow plastron. After all World Cup competitions (ie at the end of the season), the classification becomes the final classification. The jumper at its head becomes the winner and receives the World Cup - Crystal Ball.
