Ciechocinek is a small town located in the province. Kuyavian-Pomeranian, on the so-called White Kujawy. It is famous primarily for spas, of which even 100,000 people use it every year. The history of the city dates back to ancient times. In today's Ciechocinek there was a castellan castle called Słońsk, which was already written in 1065. In 1235 Duke Konrad I Mazowiecki wrote down an act in which he gave the Teutonic Order two saltworks. The first mention of the village of Ciechocino comes from 1379, and the current name Ciechocinek appeared in 1520. Nevertheless, it received city rights only 80 years later, in 1916. From that moment it became a spa town, to which every year came numerous groups of patients, also from outside Poland.
