Maria Luisa Park is the most famous park of Seville and the green lungs of the city. It is located on a tourist route and is often visited by both locals and tourists. It is a perfect place for walks and shelter from the scorching sun. Originally, the park was part of the gardens of the Palace of San Thelmo and was donated to the city in 1893 by the Infanta María Luis de Borbón the Duc de Montpensier. The place is diversified by ponds and ponds, for example the Lotus Pond, with romantic bridges and footbridges, decorated with azulejos. If you get tired of walking, you can sit on green-covered benches or hide in a secluded corner with a book. At the edge of the park is the Plaza de America, with the Archaeological Museum and the Museum of Arts and Customs. The buildings were built as exhibition pavilions and later adapted into museums. The Plaza de América especially favored the pigeons who gather there waiting for the delicacies thrown by them. In the park you can also see colorful parrots, royal peacocks, swans and ducks.
